Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race Cupcakes
Best sellers by far are simple vanilla and chocolate cupcakes...and I am always looking for ways to make them come alive. These were actually left overs which I absconded with to my own dinner table. You can't really see in this picture too well, but the one with the "boat helm" says ..."AHOY". Stars are for nightime sailing and the Fourth of July, and flowers are for the women sailors. Let's call this design MHOR Cupcake.
Ahoy (spoken [aˈhɔi̯]) is a signal word used to signal a ship or boat, stemming from the Middle English cry, 'Hoy!'. The word had fallen into obsolescence before rising from obscurity as the sport of sailing rose in popularity. 'Ahoy' can also be used as a greeting, a warning, or a farewell.
Next Sunday, July 7th is the START of the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Tace. Festivities occur all week at the Boston Yacht Club. Look for Marblehead Harbor to be full of sails and sailors!
