From Summer to Halloween Candy.... Where does the time go?

...Reminiscing after a long summer....I'm sounding a bit behind the curve right? now that Daylight Savings Time is rapidly approaching.  Plus it's October 30, and I just bought my Halloween candy today!?!   I. AM. MISSING. SUMMER. AND. ALL. OF. HER. GLORY.

The boat has been shrink wrapped. The fallen leaves have been raked a few times. The frost has stolen whatever was left of the summer cutting garden. Woe is me. Summer, come back!

Holding my head high as any good pseudo-New-Englander would, I wantonly perused my summer photo albums, iphone albums of course.   I came across the cute little cake and the memory of that gorgeous Saturday afternoon.  Then, more photos, and more great memories!  We are by no means spoiled in Massachusetts,  there are too few months days of summer here.  But, I'm going to start with one day and a little bride cake.

It was a picture perfect day for a wedding.  While on a cake delivery, I looked out the reception venue window and spied HUGE letters etched into the sandy beach  "Good Luck M & C ".  I was actually so filled with happiness that I forgot to snap a photo of that cleaver idea. {darn} The sand at Kings Beach in Swampscott, Massachusetts is so flat that the tide flows in rather quickly.  By the time I was finished setting up the cupcakes, I remembered to take a picture. Nope, sorry.  The sandy note was half way out to sea and I was kicking myself. Just like the days of summer, gone in a flash.

Reluctantly I have wrapped up my season with one special recipe and a very brief photo essay of my summer through food, fun, moments, & people.
